For adults, the focus is on developing high-level martial arts skills as well as self-awareness. We seek to cultivate a deeper understanding and appreciation for the art, and are fully committed to offering comprehensive instruction. We offer classes 6 days a week, as well as seminars with world-class instructors, and workshops to target critical skills. Testing is held on a quarterly basis.

By practicing Aikido, children acquire important life skills, as well as physical fitness and coordination. They learn the value of focus, teamwork, and discipline – not as abstract concepts, but through hands-on experience. Children and teens are welcome to join our adult classes. Testing is held on a quarterly basis. Aikido classes may be used for PE credits. Contact us for more information.

“I started with Aikido because I had to have a physical activity instead of PE. The idea of peacefully resolving conflict interested me, but as I evolved, the concepts of attention to detail during class and having fun with your peers outside of class appealed more. No matter who you are, where you want to be, or what you want, Aikido has something to give to you."

"I started in aikido because I wanted to study a physical art with a deep curriculum and community. I looked at other martial arts, but felt the learning community at Seattle Aikikai was more community-focused and supportive of personal connections and personal growth. I felt it was more about the whole person."
