COVID-19

Dojo policies

Although there is no government requirement for vaccination, we suggest that members get vaccinated in order to protect themselves and the community.

Masks are optional for both indoor and outdoor training. Masks are available at the dojo if you do not bring your own.

Do not come to class if you are feeling unwell or have any of the following symptoms even if they are very mild:

  • Fever or chills
  • Cough
  • Shortness of breath or difficulty breathing
  • Fatigue
  • Muscle or body aches
  • Headache
  • New loss of taste or smell
  • Sore throat
  • Congestion or runny nose
  • Nausea or vomiting
  • Diarrhea

Please read and follow the CDC recommendations for isolation. If you have any of the above symptoms, no matter how mild, use a home COVID-19 test (be sure to check its expiration date).

If you test positive for COVID-19, stay home for at least 5 days and isolate from others in your home. You are likely most infectious during these first 5 days. Wear a high-quality mask if you must be around others at home and in public.

Please read the complete CDC guidelines on when to end isolation.

Regardless of when you end isolation, until at least day 11:

  • Avoid being around people who are more likely to get very sick from COVID-19.
  • Remember to wear a high-quality mask when indoors around others at home and in public.

Immediately notify Seattle Aikikai via email if you or anyone you have had close contact with has tested positive for COVID-19.
